General Admission Requirements
ACT
- A composite score of 22 in ACT, plus High School Transcript.
General Certificate of Education (GCE) / International Advanced Level (IAL) Examination
- Grade E or above in 3 AL subjects in the GCE; OR
- Grade E or above in 2 AL subjects in the GCE/IAL, plus Grade C in English Language and and Grade C / Level 4 in Chinese Language in GCSE/IGCSE.

Grade E in 2 AS-Level subjects are considered as Grade E in 1 AL Subject. The same subject will not be counted at both the A-level and AS-level.
* English Language and Chinese Language subjects shall normally not be counted as the subjects for meeting requirement.
SAT
- A combined score of 1,650 (2400-point scale) or 1,190 (new 1600-point scale) in SAT Reasoning Test plus High School Transcript.

In addition to the General Entrance and English Language Requirements, applicants must satisfy the following entrance requirements specific to their chosen programme(s).
Higher Diploma in Music Studies
- Attained Grade 6 in the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Practical Examination; OR
- Equivalent level awarded by similar organizations; OR
- Approval after audition.
Remarks:
1. SFU is no longer accepting applications from Mainland, Macau and Taiwan applicants for admission to the Postgraduate and Undergraduate Programmes. Applicants are welcome to apply for the Sub-degree Programmes offered by SFU/CBCC.
2. The University/College adopts the credit system. All non-local students must study in full-time mode.
3. All programmes have been validated by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ), which the academic qualification and status are both recognized by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government.
4. Shortlisted applicants will receive individual notifications regarding interview details from either the Registry or the Academic departments. The notifications will be sent through various electronic means (e.g. email, SMS, and phone (typically using phone numbers starting with 3702 or 3653). Applicants are advised to attend the interviews as scheduled since re-arrangement may not be feasible. Failure to attend the scheduled interview may result in their applications not being considered further.
