The Joint Graduation Ceremony is a significant event in CIHE and CBCC and a momentous occasion for graduates, family, and friends. It is the annual ceremony where the Institute and College officially grants degrees and sub-degrees to eligible students upon graduation.
The Class of 2023 saw ten schools and departments conferring degrees and sub-degrees on over 1,000 graduates in the ceremony that took place on 20 November 2023 at René Chevalier Multi-Purpose Sports Centre. Videos and details of Joint Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2023 can be viewed here.
The Ceremonies are presided over by the Chairperson of the Board of Governors, the supreme governing body of the Institute. In the absence of the Chairperson of the Board of Governors, the Chairperson of the Council, with delegated authority, will preside.
At the start of the ceremony, the Institutes Procession, dressed in full academic regalia, enters the stage. The President of the Institutes, announces the opening of the Ceremony, followed by an Opening Prayer.
The Dean, Heads, and designated faculty members will present the candidates, and the Presiding Officer will announce their admission to their respective degrees and sub-degrees. The ceremony concludes after the degrees and sub-degrees have been conferred and any additional events and speeches organised by the Institutes have taken place. Once Thanksgiving Prayer is completed and the President declares the ceremony closed, the Procession music will play, and the Procession will exit in reverse order.
