Part-time Research Assistant, S.K. Yee School of Health Sciences (Ref.: 25/112/HS/RA)
Duties

The appointee will be responsible to: (a) assist in recruiting and screening participants to study criteria; (b) conduct surveys and act as a note-taker during the interview as outlined in the study protocol; (c) ensure accurate and timely documentation of all data collected; (d) organize and maintain databases and data entry systems; (e) perform data cleaning and preliminary analysis under the guidance of the Principal Investigator (PI); (f) assist in the preparation of reports and presentations based on research findings; (g) conduct literature searches and summarize relevant studies to support the research objectives; (h) stay updated on current trends and developments in the field; (i) schedule meetings, coordinate study-related activities, and manage communication with participants, and (j) assist in the preparation of conference presentations and publications.

Duties

The appointee will support a project that aims to explore nurses' perspectives on promoting advance directives and assess their capacity to manage end-of-life care and related issues. Duties

The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigators. His/her task will include (i) helping to prepare questionnaire for survey; (ii) arranging and assisting to conduct personal interviews & focus groups; (iii) conducting quantitative data analysis with SPSS, (iv) conducting analysis of the verbatim transcriptions; (v) assisting in drafting training materials, powerpoint presentations, operational manuals, forms, templates and reports; (vi) drafting research manuscripts and other presentation materials for presentation/publication in conferences/journals; (vii) assisting in event preparation and implementations; (viii) performing other tasks as assigned.

Duties

The appointee will support the Principal Investigator in a research project on Facebook news framing. Key responsibilities include:

  • preparing research materials for quantitative studies;
  • collecting, inputting, and analysing quantitative data;
  • reviewing literature and drafting manuscripts;

Appointment Criteria Applicants should:
  1. hold an honours degree in social sciences, or a related discipline, preferably in Psychology;

Duties

The Research Assistant will play a key role in supporting a research project focused on Hong Kong Audio Description Services in films. Working closely with the Principal Investigator and the research team, the appointee will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including data collection, data analysis, negotiating with organizations to arrange interviews, and actively participating in interviews. The Research Assistant may also be required to assist with other related tasks as needed. Strong communication skills and proficiency in Cantonese are essential for this role.

The appointee is mainly required to assist in a 5-year innovative service-research project entitled 'Meta-S: An Integrative Psychosocial Study and Service Outcome Evaluation for Students with Special Educational Needs'. Duties

The appointee, as the "Centre Manager", will assist the Centre Director to oversee the daily operations of the Caregiver Research & Development Centre (CRC). Tasks will include:

  • identify resources and assist to prepare and write up research or service project proposals,
  • conduct research studies (quantitative and qualitative), and service projects on caregiving,
  • conduct data analysis of the quantitative data and qualitative verbatim transcription independently,
  • organize workshops, seminars, international conferences and other academic-related events,

Typical tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Preparing and annotating training datasets;
  2. Implementing and optimizing proposed deep learning algorithms;
  3. Conducting ablation analysis and comparative experiments;
  4. Organizing and performing user studies and evaluations; and
  5. Documenting results and preparing technical reports and manuscripts.

The appointment will initially be made on a contract basis for 6–12 months, commencing at the candidate's earliest convenience. Renewal is subject to performance and funding availability.

  1. Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines;
  2. Research experience in deep learning, computer vision, or image processing, with proven ability to work independently;
  3. Competency in developing deep learning models using standard libraries and frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow;
