Duties

The proposed study covers multiple research areas such as physicochemical, analytic and materials sciences, as well as microbiological studies.  The Research Assistant (RA) will be working on preparation of 3-chamber nanofibers using electrospinning instrument and assess the fabricated nanofibers for synergistic wound healing effect.  Apart from working in the laboratory, the Research Assistant is expected to present research findings at internal research seminars and external conferences. In addition, the Research Assistant will be required to prepare manuscripts for publication.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants are required to hold a Master's degree in Material Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or Biochemistry and should be skilled in research methodology as well as in managing biological cultures and chemicals. Duties

The appointee will be responsible for assisting the research in one of the following FDS projects:

1) Deep Comic Screening via Tone-aware Semantic Layer Analysis [UGC/FDS11/E01/21]
2) Instance-aware Cartoon Stylization of Photo and Videos [UGC/FDS11/E02/21]
3) Chinese Calligraphic Animation Generation via Deep Stroke Segmentation and Contour-based Trajectory Identification [UGC/FDS11/E03/22]

 The tasks include preparing training dataset, implementing the designed algorithms, performing ablation and comparison experiments, and conducting user studies, etc.

 Appointment will be made on a contract basis for 6-12 months commencing at earliest convenience.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants should (i) have a bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines; (ii) have experience in deep learning or image processing research and be able to work independently; (iii) be able to develop deep learning applications using the deep learning libraries, e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.; and (iv) have good communication and interpersonal skills. Applicants with publication experience are preferred.
