As the Supporting Institute for Digital Entertainment Leadership Forum (DELF) 2023 (數碼娛樂領袖論壇), the Cyberport's flagship event on digital entertainment and esports, Caritas Institute of Higher Education (CIHE) is delighted to see the event was successfully held on 25 - 27 August 2023. DELF 2023 attracted over 3,500 attendees, including government officials, corporates, startups, and the general public for the three-day programme. It featured more than 40 digi-tainment venture across various domains, including gaming, sports and esports, music, arts and culture, education, and lifestyle, which provided a mind-blowing carnival-like experience for the participants.
The senior management of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited (the Cyberport) expressed their appreciation for CIHE's support in making DELF 2023 a success. Teamed up with the School of Computing and Information Sciences (SCIS), the Ip Ying To Lee Yu Yee School of Humanities and Languages (SHL), the Fundraising Office and about 20 student ambassadors, CIHE showcased the Institute's strength on Artificial Intelligence (AI) development at the event. It included SCIS's demos on Intelligent Sketch (快速智慧素描), Intelligent Painter (智慧構圖：協助你創製沙龍作品), Anime photo stylization, and SHL's presentation on Chinese-English Food and Drinks Translation System (漢英中國飲食詞匯翻譯系統).
CIHE was fortunate to be connected with the industry and business counterparts through DELF 2023. The post-event meetings have been arranged with Ir Eric Chan Sze-yuen, Chief Public Mission Officer of the Cyberport, Mr Wren Chao of Art Great Creation Limited, Mr Thomas Jor of ATTA Technologies, and Mr Joe Chan of ICT-in-Physical Education Foundation Limited. Connections with Mr Alan Cheung Yick-Lun of Grandion Group, and Mr Purehay Au-Yeung of Pure Studio have likewise been forged.
Highlights of follow-up meeting:
Following on the successfully experience of DELF 2023, Ir Eric Chan Sze-yuen the Chief Public Mission Officer of the Cyberport together with his colleague Mr Ricky Choi paid a visit to CIHE campus on 18 September 2023. The meeting with Ir Chan was very fruitful as promising collaborations and the youth development programme would possibly go further in new ventures between CIHE and the Cyberport.
