SFU Professor shared perspectives on living and teaching in Hong Kong

Prof YI Cheong Heon, Professor of Rita Tong Liu School of Business and Hospitality Management, SFU, was interviewed by Orange News' programme "HK Eye" to share his insights on living and teaching in Hong Kong. Prof YI also reflected on his education experience, and how the city has become a place where he has found both professional satisfaction and personal fulfillment.

When asked about his teaching experience in Hong Kong, Prof YI shared that he has noticed a shift in the younger generation's interest in accounting. However, he remains optimistic about the field's importance in maintaining Hong Kong's status as an international financial center. He also pointed out the distinctive yet similar educational values between Hong Kong and Korea. He appreciates the blend of individualism and collectivism in Hong Kong's youth culture, describing the city as "a nice blend of east and west."

Prof YI's reflections on his time in Hong Kong underscore the city's unique blend of Eastern and Western cultures, making it an attractive destination for locals and expats alike.
