Caritas Institute of Higher Education (CIHE) and Caritas Bianchi College of Careers arranged a week-long program to engage students, including enrollment and orientation activities by student associations, clubs, and sports teams. The event also featured student and guest-sharing sessions and performances.
The Welcome Festival was officially launched by the schools' management on 11 September, remarking the start of the new academic year. Dr Kim MAK, the President, encouraged the 2,000 new students to develop a love for learning, be interested in their studies, and foster a friendship with learning. He emphasised the importance of caring for others and serving the community, believing that students who embrace these values will have a fulfilling campus life. Dr MAK also highlighted the significance of continuous learning and self-improvement in today's society, emphasising that completing a tertiary education program is not the end of learning. He advised students to embrace the challenges and not give up easily.
The Welcome Festival, held on the Campus Common at the 2/F of CIHE Campus, took place for five consecutive days from 11th to 15th September. Various exciting programmes were organised, including student and guest performances, sharing sessions, the introduction of career services, and student organisation showcases.
MA Hei Yu, a current student studying Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physiotherapy, showcased her skills in karate along with her fellow teamates. She was also a silver medallist in the Women's U21 Individual Kata event at the 10th East Asian Karate Championships. KO Shing Hei, who won a bronze medal in the men's singles badminton event at the 2023 Chengdu World University Games, shared his journey as an athlete.
Additionally, CHAN Jo and LO Lok (LOK), two of the participants of in the city's famous TV show "King Maker" competition, also performed during the event.
