As of 5pm on 17th July, SFU and CBCC have received over 29,000 applications, representing a year-on-year increase of 13%. The Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary Dr Kat LEUNG revealed that popular programmes included Nursing, Social Work, Physiotherapy, Early Childhood Education and Hotel and Tourism Management, and a significant increase is also recorded in programmes related to Artificial Intelligence and Translation Technology.

The SFU and CBCC have an advantage by providing a clear articulation pathway. We offer suitable programmes to students who do not obtaining 332A2 or 22222 in HKDSE, allowing them to articulate to Sub-Degree or Undergraduate programmes in the future. This enables student to fulfill their needs for both employment and further studies. SFU is currently applying to become a university of applied sciences. Many of the programmes offered by SFU are professionally oriented and can be professionally accredited upon graduation, thus providing greater job security.

Assistant Director(Admission and Recruitment) Ms Aries CHAN also mentioned that students are attracted to apply for the new Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in Applied Hotel and Tourism Management programme. This programme has been included in the Pilot Project on the Development of Applied Degree Programme and is funded by the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP). It is particularly appealing to students due to its strong industry linkage and the provision of internship allowances.
