The GET-SET-GO Kick-off Ceremony cum Young Entrepreneur Day was organised at the Caritas Institute of Higher Education (CIHE) on 22 March 2018 to mark a remarkable start for the three-year GET-SET-GO scheme. Around 400 participants including secondary school students and teachers, and employers of local small and medium enterprises witnessed the momentous occasion. The ceremony was officiated by Dr. Mak Kin-wah, President of CIHE, and employer representative.
Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Mak expressed gratitude to the generosity of Chow Tai Fook Charity Foundation which allows the Institute to provide support for senior secondary school students in higher education and employment in order to enhance their opportunity for upward mobility. With the theme of “Paint Your Future”, the starting event of the Scheme, Young Entrepreneur Day, included featured activities such as Young Entrepreneurs’ Forum (five entrepreneurs sharing their start-up experience and stories), Speed Networking (students meeting with professionals from different sectors within an hour) and Career Expo. Through the event, participating students can have better understanding of entry requirements and career prospects of various industries, which empower them to make informed choices on career paths. There were seven secondary schools attending the event, including Newman Catholic College, Hong Kong Teachers’ Association Lee Heng Kwei Secondary School, China Holiness College, QualiEd College, Aberdeen Technical School, S. K. H. All Saints’ Middle School and Shung Tak Catholic English College.
