This year, several distinguished community and industry leaders were invited to address the University's Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2025. Among them was Dr Lam Ching-choi, Chief Executive Officer of Haven of Hope Christian Service and Non-Official Member of the Executive Council, HKSAR. In his occasional speech, Dr Lam drew the analogy of "building bridges" to highlight the importance of cross-disciplinary competencies for social work graduates in serving a pluralistic society like Hong Kong. He noted that fields such as business, healthcare, education, and social services complement and advance each other, with cross-disciplinary collaboration not only enriches students' professional perspectives but also better addresses societal needs. He encouraged students to actively engage in internships, volunteering, and community projects, integrating theory with practice to collectively enhance the overall welfare of society.

This year, several distinguished community and industry leaders were invited to address the University's Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2025. Among them was Mr William Chui, Chief Pharmacist of the Hospital Authority. He stated at the address that pharmacists and dispensers play a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficacy of patient medication, while also providing the public with accurate medication guidance and health management advice. With the development of the Community Pharmacy Scheme, the role of pharmacists and dispensers in primary healthcare is becoming increasingly significant. Alongside professional knowledge and skills, teamwork and adaptability are also essential. Looking ahead to greater technology adoption in the sector, he encouraged graduates to maintain their passion for learning and actively equip themselves to meet evolving societal needs.

Among them was Ir Dr Pang Yat Bond, Executive Vice President of the Hong Kong Young Industrialists Council and Chief Executive Officer of Asia Allied Infrastructure Holdings Limited. He shared two personal stories in his occasional speech, encouraging graduates to uphold integrity and devotion as well as continuous improvement as the key elements of success. He also called on graduates to adhere steadfastly to personal values and moral beliefs in an era of rapid technological and AI advancement, where 'efficiency' is often regarded as the core in work and decision making. According to Ir Dr Pang, graduates should strive to stay true to principles, embrace challenges, and inspire team members, and these are the attributes which he believes are invaluable.

Among them was Professor Sylvia Fung, President of the Hong Kong Academy of Nursing and Midwifery, who shared the joy of the graduates. She encouraged those in nursing and related disciplines to embrace their responsibilities, injecting new vitality into Hong Kong's healthcare system.
Noting the high public trust and expectation of the nursing profession, Professor Fung stressed that nurses have to face pressures and challenges across various professional roles, making perseverance and resilience especially crucial. By embracing the spirit of 'perseverance' and 'lifelong learning', she added that students could transform challenges into opportunities for growth, keeping pace with advancements in the nursing profession while maintaining high-quality professional services.
