SFU Receives HK$10 Million from Mr Justin Lam to Support New Campus Development

Saint Francis University (SFU) has received a generous donation from Mr Justin Lam Wo Cheuk, accepted on behalf of the University by President Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung. The donation will support the development of the new campus and help provide staff and students with enhanced teaching and research facilities.

The ceremony was arranged by Love-Learn-Inherit Institutional Advancement Office and witnessed by the University's senior management team, including Provost Professor Annie Bligh, Vice-President (Research and Development) Professor Lo Tit Wing, Vice-President (Finance and Institutional Advancement) Mr Manhoe Chan, Vice-President (Academic and Quality Assurance) Mr Felix Leung, Associate Vice-President (Institutional Advancement) Dr Ricky Leung, Associate Vice-President (Quality Assurance) Dr Kelvin Ma, Dean of the Ip Ying To Lee Yu Yee School of Humanities and Languages Professor Chan Sin Wai, Dean of the Felizberta Lo Padilla Tong School of Social Sciences Professor Wong Yu Cheung, Dean of Graduate Studies Professor Simon Chan, Head of the Irene Lam Department of Design Mr Gary Lam, as well as other department heads and staff members.

At the ceremony, Professor Cheung said, "SFU has been committed to advancing applied education and research innovation, and to nurturing professionals with strong practical skills to meet the evolving needs of society and industry. Mr Lam's generous donation will help advance the development of the new campus in Tai Wai. The new campus will foster applied research and industry-academia collaboration, while providing staff and students with a more conducive environment for teaching and academic exploration, thereby further strengthening SFU's influence in the field of applied science education."

Mr Justin Lam said that he was honoured to support the development of SFU and to witness the University's continued progress in applied education and research innovation. The donation will be used for facilities development at SFU's new Tai Wai campus. He expressed the hope that the new campus would provide staff and students with an enhanced environment for teaching and research, and support the University in nurturing more professionals equipped to meet the needs of society.
