Latest Updates - Professor Leung Yee-tak of SFU Receives "Innovative Rising Stars Awards" at HKMA/HKT Global Innovation Award Ceremony 2026-08-24

Professor LEUNG Yee Tak from Yam Pak Charitable Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences at Saint Francis University (SFU) was awarded the Silver Award for "Start-up Star" at the Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA) / HKT Global Innovation Award Ceremony held on June 29, 2026, for his team's development of an intelligent electronic health management system — "eHM."

The "eHM" system has been integrated with the Hospital Authority's "eHealth+" platform. Elderly homes, rehabilitation centres, and community pharmacies can use this system to store residents' health histories, diagnostic results, and obtain complete medication records, thereby reducing cumbersome paperwork. The system also employs artificial intelligence for nursing data analysis, providing users with digitalised solutions that enhance medication safety and nursing efficiency. It has already been adopted by a number of residential care facilities.

Professor Leung's research project has also received recognition and support from Saint Francis University's "AI in Telehealth" initiative. The University had already organised relevant workshops as early as 2024 to promote the industry's adoption of digital health management platforms, and the outcomes have been widely acclaimed.

The HKMA/HKT Global Innovation Award aims to recognise organisations and projects with outstanding achievements in areas such as product, service, process, and social innovation. Professor Leung expressed his delight at receiving the award, noting that it affirms the team's efforts in leveraging innovative technology to enhance the quality of elderly care and rehabilitation services in Hong Kong, and he will continue to drive the development and application of the relevant technologies.
