CIHE Health Care students engage in anti-epidemic services

Caritas Institute of Higher Education (CIHE) has been working with the Government and other healthcare organizations to provide support to COVID related initiatives. School of Health Science had submitted a list of 376 students to FHB in response to the need for students to join swabbing for PCR tests. These student volunteers come from the Bachelor of Nursing, Higher Diploma in Enrolled Nursing, Higher Diploma in Heath Care, and Higher Diploma in Pharmaceutical Dispensing programmes.

A satellite hotline center has been set up on the CIHE Campus for the Hospital Authority since 4 March 2022. 10 hotlines is running for enquiries, and the hotline capacity will be doubled in the near future. This center is managed by 10 nurse teachers and about 70 Year 5 nursing students.

CIHE are working with Haven of Hope (HH) to provide staff and students for supporting 400 beds at the Kai Tak Community Isolation Facility (CIF). The team include more than 10 teachers and 80 students from nursing and dispensing. Their service support for the elderly will include drug screening, administrating and management. Higher Diploma of Health Care students are also encouraged to such needs as Care Assistant for the CIF site as well as HH Hospital units.

School of Health Science is receiving and working on requests from private hospital, for support to take on more HA patients.
