The Design Week 2023 for the Department of Design of Caritas Bianchi College of Careers (CBCC) was kicked off on 6 July 2023. The Design Week, themed "Beyond Boundaries" is an interdisciplinary showcase for the students who study in the field of Graphic Design, Interior Architecture, Fashion Design and Film and Media Production.
The celebrities filled the opening ceremony, Mr MAK Chun Hung, President of The Association of Motion Picture Post Production Professionals (AMP4), Mr Tenky TIN Kai Man, the spokesperson for the Federation of Hong Kong Filmmakers, Mr Kevin YEUNG, Chairman of Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association, Ms Louisa YOUNG, Vice-Chairman of Hong Kong Interior Design Association, Mr Eddy HUI, Vice-Chairman of the Hong Kong Designers Association and Dr Kim MAK, President of Caritas Institute of Higher Education and Caritas Bianchi College of Careers were invited as the officiating guests, was successfully launched on 6 July 2023.
To echo the theme of the year - "Beyond Boundaries", the students of the graduating year from the fashion design stream adopted a cross-media cum interdisciplinary show, with a mix of elements of dancing, graphic and interior architecture design and film, in demonstrating their proud works. The integrated demonstration attracted hundreds of visitors from professional fields, alumni, and secondary schools.
One of the featured elements of Design Week is the showcase between students and the professional fields.
The student could present their works and be judged by the pros. The Gold Awardee of each speciality goes to Loo Cheuk Him, Paco (Film and Media Production), Au Ji Yuen, Josiah(Graphic Design),Elisha Quinn Gonzales (Interior Architecture), and GHALE Sneha (Fashion Design).
GHALE Sneha was also awarded Most Creative Award from the Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association (HKFDA).
The department of design offers the Higher Diploma in Design and the Higher Diploma in Film and Media Production, both are 2-year courses. The Higher Diploma in Design has 3 streams, including fashion design, graphic design and interior architecture. HKDSE graduates are welcome to apply.
