Evaluation of and Training for Social Workers in Project Careerpillar Dissemination

Project Careerpillar, funded by Simon K.Y. Lee Foundation, is dedicated to enhancing the self-understanding, personal growth, and career development of young adults aged 25-39 through a unique evidence-based service model. This model consists of several key components (career-related workshops, individual and group counseling, career matching and exploration, and support group) designed to support the participants effectively. From 2021 to 2023, the project was initially implemented as an experimental initiative in collaboration with four non-governmental organizations (Caritas-Hong Kong, Evangelical Lutheran Church Social Service-Hong Kong, Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, and Hong Kong Playground Association), engaging approximately 140 participants. Leveraging the successful outcomes of this experimental phase, the project is being carried forward from early 2024. In April 2024, specialized training was provided to social workers, equipping them with the necessary skills to implement the project effectively. It is anticipated that the number of direct beneficiaries will expand to at least 320 participants by 2025.
