Biography
With the varied training background of social work, divinity, and art therapy, Dr Joshua Kin-man NAN has been serving as a social worker practitioner, art therapist, and spiritual worker in different work setting for many years. Upon finishing his PhD training, he has served in the University of Hong Kong as an Assistant Professor and the Deputy Program Director of Expressive Arts Therapies in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration. Subsequently, he has worked in Hong Kong Baptist University as an Assistant Professor and been in-charge of the PhD Program in the Department of Social Work.
As an active member and pioneer in HK art therapy field, he is a professional member in Hong Kong Association of Art Therapists, served as the EXCO member in the early years and later the consultant of the Association's foundation training course of art therapy. On the international platform, Joshua has served in the Review Board of the Journal of American Art Therapy Association for many years and is a licensed art therapist in the USA. He has been the Keynote Speaker (2023), Plenary Speaker (2024) in Taiwan Art Therapy Association, and Plenary Speaker (2015) in Hong Kong Association of Art Therapists' Conference (2015).
