Biography
Dr Stephen CHAN is currently an Assistant Professor in the Felizberta Lo Padilla Tong School of Social Sciences at Caritas Institute of Higher Education, Hong Kong. He is responsible for teaching Introduction to Psychology, History and Issues in Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Biological Psychology and Cognitive Psychology.
Dr. CHAN obtained his PhD in Psychology from the Department of Applied Social Sciences, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Before joining, he has been experienced in teaching a wide range of psychology and research subjects including Research Methods in Psychology, Positive Psychology, Essentials of Research Inquiry and Psychology of Intimate Relationship. He has also involved in different research projects pertaining to carer and aging population. His research interests fall in the area of aging particularly on the relationships among social determinants, positive psychological indicators and psychological well-being as well as the relationships between age-stereotype and cognitive performances. His current research mainly is related to carer studies, positive psychological interventions and positive psychology in older adults.
