I am a Senior Lecturer of the Felizaberta Lo Padilla Tong School of Social Sciences and the Fieldwork Coordinator of Higher Diploma in Social Work (Full-time mode). I have been actively involved in the field of family services for more than two decades. With years of clinical practice in family services, I have accumulated substantial experience in handling problems relating to parent-child relationship, marital distress, extra-marital affairs, child abuse and the like.
I was awarded a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Arts (Family-centred Social Work) by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Besides, I am also a registered social worker and an accredited instructor of Billings Ovulation Method.
I have served in the Felizberta Lo Padilla Tong School of Social Sciences of Caritas Institute of Higher Education for 13 years. My teaching areas include introduction to psychology, human behavior and social environment, services for family and self-understanding laboratory. I am also assigned as the Fieldwork Coordinator for the Higher Diploma in Social Work (Full time Mode) and responsible for the overall development and implementation of the fieldwork placement. As a class year teacher, I also provide supports to Year 2 students to enhance their learning, personal as well as professional growth.
To help students integrate theoretical concepts and skills into social work practice. I often make use of mass media, such as movies, TV programs and novels, as means to facilitate students to apply their knowledge to understand the behavior of different individuals in their life situations and how environment affects human behaviors. The course contents have been well appreciated by the students.
On fieldwork coordination, I am responsible for the overall planning, organizing, evaluating, development, agency liaison and monitoring of fieldwork placement. In the past years, a wide variety of related works including liaison with different agencies for placement opportunities, fieldwork placement allocation exercise, pre-placement workshops for students, bench-marking exercise and meetings with fieldwork supervisors have been conducted.
