Having worked over a decade both in social work education and in social and humanitarian work, Clara draws from those experiences and applies them as a lecturer at the Felizberta Lo Padilla Tong School of Social Sciences where she teaches now. She concerns about gender equality and takes a keen interest in the situation of women, especially unpaid homemakers and care-givers. She has been serving in the executive committees of various women's groups.
Her career profile prior to teaching includes some of the local and international NGOs, which include the Salvation Army, Young Women Christian Association (YWCA), Hong Kong Federation of Women's Centre, World Vision and Amnesty International.
She holds a Master of Social Science degree in Counselling from the University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
