Biography

Richard Chung is an Associate Professor in Finance at Saint Francis University (Formerly known as Caritas Institute of Higher Education). He teaches Business Finance and Data Analytics. Professor Chung holds a PhD in Finance from Ohio University (USA) and an Honours Bachelor degree in Computer Science from University of Manitoba (Canada). He previously served as the Finance Discipline coordinator and Research Student Convenor at Griffith University.

Teaching

Professor Chung previously taught at Concordia University (Canada), Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Hong Kong), and Griffith University (Australia). With almost 30 years of academic career, he has vast experience in curriculum development, program management, classroom instruction, and research student supervision. He has taught many courses, including Corporate Finance, Investments, and Financial Statement Analysis.

Research

His primary research areas include corporate governance, earnings management, Environment, Social and Governance (ESG), and Small and Medium Enterprises (SME). He has published many refereed papers in prestigious journals, such as Management Science, Contemporary Accounting Research, and Journal of Corporate Finance. He secured many external research grants on affordable housing area.
