Biography

Terrence is an Assistant Professor at Rita Tong Liu School of Business and Hospitality Management, Saint Francis University (SFU). After receiving his Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Tourism Management from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), he gained substantial hands-on front office experience in the hotel industry. In 2018, he studied abroad at Wakayama University in Japan to pursue his Master's degree. Afterwards, he returned to PolyU and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy, specializing in Hotel and Tourism Management.

Teaching

Given his professional industry experience and academic background, Terrence's teaching expertise includes management and marketing of the hospitality and tourism industry, sustainable tourism, cultural heritage tourism and qualitative research methods. He has taught in Hong Kong and Japan, gaining substantial experience in diverse cultural settings.

 At SFU, Terrence is responsible for teaching hospitality and tourism related subjects. He has a strong motive to incorporate experiential learning and interactive games into his teaching.

Research

[Current Research ]

In addition to his enthusiasm for delivering high-quality learning experiences to his students, Terrence is also an early-career researcher. He was a postdoctoral fellow in the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at the PolyU. His research interests lie in cultural heritage tourism, national identity, and educational tourism management. His current research projects focus on tourists' experiences at red tourism sites and educational tourism experiences of Hong Kong adolescents.
