Biography

Cheong YI is Professor of Accounting at Saint Francis University, where he teaches financial accounting and management accounting. Professor Yi holds a PhD in accounting from University of California at Los Angeles, and a master's degree in business administration and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Seoul National University.

Teaching

Professor Yi previously taught at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and City University of Hong Kong. With more than 20 years' experience as an accounting professor, Professor Yi is adept in curriculum development, program management, classroom instruction, and research student supervision. He served as programme leader, associate head, and acting head at City University of Hong Kong. He also served as academic advisor of the HKICS and as academic advisor of corporate governance programme at Open University of Hong Kong.

Research

His primary research areas include auditing, business groups, and financial reporting. His research papers have been published in prestigious journals such as Journal of Financial and Quantitative Research, Contemporary Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies, Accounting and Finance, and International Journal of Research in Marketing. He secured several GRF external grants. He served as an Editor-in-Chief for China Journal of Accounting Research and an Associate Editor for Asia-Pacific Journal of Accounting and Economics.
