Biography

Dr Ngan has worked in early childhood education and teacher education for over 30 years. She is currently a senior lecturer of the School of Humanities and Languages, Programme Leaader of the Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education Programme. Before she joined Caritas Institute of Higher Education, I have taught a number of tertiary institutions, including the University of Macau, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and The Education University of Hong Kong. She specialize in visual arts education for  youngchildren. Recently, my teaching and research interest are mainly focused on evironmental education ofpreschool teachers and education for sustainable (ESD). My doctoral research topic was aninvestigation of pre-service preschool teachers' environmental attitudes. Besides my academic works,I enthusiastically participate in Hong Kong environmental conservation. Since 2018, I have been a member of the Management Committee of the Fung Yuen Butterly Reserve EnvironmentalAssociation. I strongly believe that the development of teachers' positive environmental attitudes is astepping-stone in promoting ESD.
