Prior to joining the big family at SFU, Dr. Qian worked with Beihang University (BUAA) for 30 years and held various teaching and administrative positions. She is the author of Computer-aided Translation, a textbook now in its second edition and used in over 300 universities across the Chinese Mainland. She is an adjunct professor with Jiang Xi University of Science and Technology of China (since 2008) and was a Fulbright Visiting Research Scholar with Carnegie Mellon University (2014-2015). Dr. Qian believes in life-long learning through doing. At present, she is exploring more in the broad field of Techno-Humanities in the AI era.
