Dr Suzanne Chou completed several degrees and qualifications in music education. She studied music and received Bmus, Mmus and Gdip(Ed) at the University of Melbourne. She continued her doctoral studies at the Education University of Hong Kong. Her research area is folk pedagogies of preschool music education in Hong Kong comparative studies with Japan. In her professional practice, she has taught various music subjects in secondary school and higher education schools in Australian classrooms. After returning to Hong Kong, she worked in various kindergartens and institutions to teach preservice teachers in music pedagogies.
