背景简介

刘学言，英国雷丁大学（The University of Reading）博士生，研究英文歌词社会语言学，同时亦是香港明爱专上学院语文及通识科讲师。先后在香港大学和香港中文大学取得两个文学硕士学位，主修领域分别是语言学和哲学。前者以优异（Distinction）成绩修毕，而后者更是获得院长嘉许誉录（Dean's List）。除了学术领域上的发展，我亦坚持对音乐的热诚，特别是欧美六十年代起的音乐，包括披头四（The Beatles）和后来的皇后乐团（Queen）、老鹰乐团（The Eagles）、Elton John等等。其歌词总是若隐若现地呈现出一些社会性信息。因此，便开始了一系列关于英文歌词的语言学研究。除此之外，亦展开了哲学领域上的写作和研究，主要是包括海德格哲学、中国哲学和哲学辅导。
