Duties

Saint Francis University plays a vital role in shaping the future of their students, not just academically but also in fostering overall health and wellness. An university nurse will be responsible to the following duties:

  1. To provide first aid for minor injuries, illnesses, and routine health checks, and emergency management;

Senior Laboratory Technician, School of Health Sciences (Ref: 24/105/HS/SLT)

The Senior Laboratory Technician in Nurse Labs has the primary responsibility of organizing and arranging learning experiences in the nursing skills lab on campus. This position involves coordination with all nursing programs that teach courses requiring practice in the nurse lab.

Duties
  1. Assist supervisor of the nursing faculty to implement the skills laboratory curriculum. This includes the use of a variety of patient care equipment and supplies.
  2. Assist supervisor to develop the system to ensure all laboratory equipment is properly maintained and functioning in relation to manufacturer recommendations.
  3. Function as a team head for laboratory technicians to deliver efficient support for the daily operation of nurse labs.
  4. Organize nurse lab team members to set up all skills labs, practice sessions, and on-campus labs offered in all nursing courses.
  5. Sustain the electronic booking system to schedule skill practice sessions for all nursing students.
  6. Ensure the availability of properly functioning equipment and supplies; maintain warranties and renewals for all equipment; perform routine equipment repair.
  7. Monitor inventory of all laboratory supplies and equipment in the nurse labs.
  8. Provide orientation and skill training for new recruit / junior lab technicians.
  9. Oversee laboratory maintenance, safety, and handling of hazardous wastes.
  10. Assess laboratory space to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies.

Physiotherapy Simulation Laboratory Technician, School of Health Sciences (ICEC Project) (Ref: 24/62/HS/PSLT)
Duties
  • Assist Physiotherapists and teachers in providing healthcare simulation training and classroom teaching to students.
  • Provide technical assistance and observation during the above duties.
  • Assist in preparation of audio-visual aids, visual/written materials and software installation for the above duties.
  • Perform regular maintenance and upkeep of all facilities in running order in the laboratory.
  • Maintain the daily operations and perform housekeeping of the laboratory.
  • Ensure safety of all users and report when necessary.
  • Collect, verify and compile statistics.
  • Assist in inventory management including stock taking and procurement process.
  • Assist in setting up equipment and assembly of equipment for Physiotherapist, teachers and student use.
  • Prepare, clean, sterilize, check and maintain equipment and laboratory areas to ensure a safe, tidy and hygienic environment.
  • Work out of campus and outside normal office hours could be possible due to specific operational requirements.
  • Relieve duties of other supporting/administrative staff if necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Appointment Criteria
  • Five passes in HKCEE/HKDSE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and English and Chinese word processing.
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Completed structured on-job training.

  • Possesses good communication, interpersonal, organization and customer service skills and working experience in health care;

Duties
  • Provide quality support service to patients and clients at the Centre.
  • On instruction, undertake programmes, educational and health promotion activities for the centre.
  • Manage daily administrative duties including client appointment booking, registration, record keeping, handle client enquiries, promotion, marketing and other relevant tasks as instructed by university professional staff.

Duties

Temporary Clinical Instructor, School of Health Sciences (5 -12 months contract) (Ref: 23/122/HS/CI)
Duties
  1. Conduct coaching, teaching and assessment to nursing students on delivery of patient care in clinical / laboratory settings such as hospital or clinic and communicate with clinical staff to create optimal clinical experiences for the students;
  2. Evaluate nursing students in clinical / laboratory settings and provide feedback to the students on their performance;
  3. Advise nursing students on clinical and educational problems by providing professional insight using personal nursing experiences, helping students solve problems on their own, as well as strengthening the educational experience for students;
  4. The appointee may work under different schedules due to specific operational requirements, including weekday evenings and weekends.
Appointment Criteria
  1. A relevant Bachelor's degree in Nursing or other academic qualifications which are deemed to be equivalent;
  2. Have a valid Registered Nurse practicing certificate (General / Psychiatric) issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong;
  3. At least 3 years' relevant post-registration clinical experience ; and
  4. Preferably with teaching experience.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Duties

The appointee will be responsible for (i) providing clerical support for academic programs offered by the Department of Health Sciences; (ii) providing logistics support for organizing events, student activities and academic visits; (iii) providing frontline services and daily office operational support; and (iv) performing other tasks as assigned.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants for the post of Administrative Assistant should have (i) achieved Level 2 or above in five subjects in the HKDSEE, OR have obtained Grade E or above in five subjects in the HKCEE; (ii) computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Chinese word-processing, etc.; (iii) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; (iv) good organizational and communication skills; and (v) 1 year's relevant work experience. Duties

The appointee will be required to (i) provide support for teaching, research and service to the School of Health Sciences; performing regular maintenance and upkeep of all facilities in running order in the laboratories; (ii) maintain the daily operation of the laboratories and managing the inventory of the facilities and equipment in the laboratories; (iii) assist in the setting up, operation and maintenance of the computing, audio visual and other teaching equipment; (iv) perform general housekeeping in classrooms and laboratories; and (v) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of School of Health Sciences or his delegates.

 

The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours and on Saturdays and Sundays due to specific operational requirements
